I’m thrilled to write about this week! It was an amazing, very uplifting, and eye-opening week at school. Because it was spiritual emphasis week, we had a chapel on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Our speaker was former SBEC Bible teacher Dr. Mark Livingston who currently serves as the senior pastor at Keltys First Baptist Church in Keltys, Texas. Joining Dr. Livingston as our worship leader was former student Landon Ditto, currently the senior high youth director at Grace Evangelical Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
The messages were centered on the theme of “Authentic Faith.” Dr. Livingston stressed what that kind of faith looked like. His scripture for Wednesday was James 4:13-17, through which he explained how students could maximize their life. Also on Wednesday, senior Adalenne Cole spoke of her growing dependence upon the Lord as a result of her diagnosis and the successful treatment of cancer.
In addition to being spiritual emphasis week, it also was a normal week. In my schedule I have some challenging classes like chemistry, but the teacher is so great it’s an enjoyable class. I feel so blessed to go to this school filled with amazing opportunities and a Christian environment.
