This
week is homecoming week at SBEC; it is such fun. The students participate in special
activities and are allowed to dress up differently each day. The first dress up
day is reserved for the seniors to dress up as a favorite character from their
childhood. The second dress up day is commercial/brand day where students are
allowed to dress up as something that might be on a commercial or advertised
for sale. The third day is nerd day on which students wear nerdy clothing and
mismatched outfits. The fourth day is old person/toddler day. On this day
students may dress up as an old person or as a toddler. On Friday, spirit day,
everyone dresses in spirit wear and jeans. On this day the seniors make a grand
entrance into the school and each grade receives a different lunch and eats
together. After lunch all the high school students go to the homecoming
pep rally where selected students play in different games and most guys
participate in a guy cheerleading contest. At the end of the pep rally a spirit
stick is awarded to the grade that showed the most spirit. Later that night
many students go and watch the football game. At halftime the band performs and
the 2012 football homecoming queen is announced.Samatha T.
