This is Homecoming Week

This week is very exciting; it is Homecoming Week! Every day there is a different dress up day for 7th – 12th grade students. Monday is Senior only dress up day. The seniors chose comic book character day, so seniors came to school dressed as their favorite comic book character. Throughout the rest of the week, all students are encouraged to dress according to the theme of the day. Tuesday is fake injury day and Wednesday is color day, where each grade wears something with a specific color for their class. Thursday is movie day and Friday is spirit day.

The football team is playing Lausanne on Friday. We hope they will win!  Also on Friday, we hold a huge pep rally during which the students play games for points, compete for spirit ribbons, display their crash sign decorations, and watch each grade’s guy cheer performance. Even though we still attend classes during homecoming week, it is full of fun events and we look forward to it all year. Homecoming is a very exciting and fun week at Northpoint Christian School.

God Cares

Today at Northpoint Christian School, I sang the National Anthem at the junior varsity football game. I was very nervous. Right before I sang, I prayed that God would help me. And He did! Isn't it crazy that Jesus cares about the little things? With everything else going on in the entire world, God was concerned with me singing at the football game. I just want you to know that God does care. God does care whether you make an A+ on your chemistry test and He does want you to understand math. Just ask Him for help, and He will give it.
Mathew 7:7 says, "Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. "

I am so very honored to have been able to sing at the football game. I am even more thankful that God cares! Good luck Northpoint!!

Great Start for the School Year

This year is off to a great start! We are beginning to get into a routine and getting acquainted with our teachers and new classmates! We've hit the ground running with lots of assignments and projects. Fall sports are in full gear, and auditions are being held for the first play of the year. My soccer team is getting ready for an overnight trip to Jackson, TN to play University School of Jackson and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School. Friday will be our first pep rally to fire up the football team for the first home game. Homecoming is just a few weeks away, and the planning has already started!

I'm so grateful to God for this school and for my helpful, Godly teachers. I'm looking forward to a great year with a busy schedule of academics, drama, and sports!

Senior Retreat

Our senior class just returned from the annual senior retreat at Camp Cordova. We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the time we had to focus on strengthening our bond with each other.  As a class, we decided on the theme, Avalanche, with aspirations for our class to have a snowball effect on the younger grades and make history at Northpoint Christian School. With two inspiring messages and moving times of worship, our grade not only made a deeper connection on the surface but also spiritually. Although I have been a member of this class for the last thirteen years, I saw the relationships between class members change greatly over this trip. I cannot wait to take on the rest of senior year with this amazing group of people!

I am finally a SENIOR!

I am so excited about what is in store for this school year. Certainly it is going to be busy for the class of 2015 as we navigate through college and career decisions, maintain our GPA, and enjoy the extracurricular activities. My classmates and I will soon attend the senior retreat where we decide on our class verse and theme, which sets the foundation for our class. Homecoming is another hallmark activity of the year; it will will take place in September. As a theatre person, I am anticipating the fun we will have as we participate in the spring musical. However, the best thing my classmates and I are looking forward to this year is GRADUATION! Northpoint Christian School has provided all students with a strong foundation in God, academics, and leadership. Whatever your interests may be, there is something for every senior and all students at Northpoint Christian School. I encourage all seniors to get involved, make lifelong friends and wonderful memories, and have a fantastic senior year.

This was a great school year!

Due to preparations for and the final exams next week, there will be no more student blogs. The students have enjoyed writing them, so look for the blogs again beginning in September.

The Last Blog of the Year

I am very honored because I am the last student blogger of the year, but I’m not sure that I’m ready to be a sophomore yet (I am getting SO old). This past week was great personally because I celebrated my birthday. The Student Council at Northpoint Christian School gives parents an option of paying for balloons to be delivered to their child on his/her birthday. So I received birthday balloons. I also received a birthday card from the president of the school. This coming week is going to be very busy for the whole school, but especially for our seniors. They have graduation ceremonies this Saturday! That’s crazy, right? As we get closer to the end of the school year, I would like to encourage all of the students, faculty, and parents to finish the year as strong as you started it, giving all the glory to God. I hope the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year is great for you and that you have a fantastic summer, too!
