This is Homecoming Week

The 2013-2014 school year has started with a bang. This is the school's first year as Northpoint Christian School, the football team has a new coaching staff, and the golf team has done very well this year. Both the girls and boys golf teams made it all the way to the state tournament.
This week is Homecoming week at Northpoint Christian School. As you can probably guess, it has been crazy. We dress up a lot this week. Monday, only the seniors dressed up. Tuesday was tacky tourist day; Wednesday is Patriotic day, where we wear red, white, and blue. On Thursday, we wear anything associated with Disney and Cartoons while on Friday we wear homecoming t-shirts and spirit wear. Also on Friday, we have special lunches by class and participate in the special homecoming pep rally. On Friday night, the football team closes out the busy week with the homecoming game against North Delta. While it is busy, this week is great to be at Northpoint Christian School.

Skits and Cheerleading

Last Wednesday, the senior students presented their first senior chapel. While the seniors were on their senior retreat, they planned the senior chapel filled with skits, worship songs, and challenges to each grade. Also, the seniors choose a senior class verse and theme that they shared at the chapel program. The senior class officers delivered the challenges to each grade. Each officer gave a specific challenge to a class, and the challenge told the students what to expect as they progressed through high school and how to be successful as they continue their education at Northpoint Christian School. Homecoming planning began two weeks ago, and everyone is very excited for this fun week in late September. We will have dress up days where students will wear costumes matching the theme for that day, and on Friday, we will have a huge pep rally. Each grade will prepare signs to hang in the hallways, a crash sign for the football team, pep rally decorations, and a Guy Cheerleading routine. The Junior students have already begun work on their routine and cheer. It is hard work, but it is a great opportunity to get to know some of the guys in the grade. We all cannot dance or cheer, which adds an element of comedy to each practice and performance. As homecoming quickly approaches, all the students are excited to begin preparations.
